Late 2017, pop singer P!nk released her seventh studio album Beautiful Trauma. Her first release since 2012’s The Truth About Love. Upon releasing her newest album it was time for P!nk to embark on her seventh world tour. The tour would span from March 1st, 2018 in Phoenix, all the way through May 21st, 2018 ending in New York City. Now I have been listening to P!nk since i was maybe six or seven years old, so when I saw the opportunity to take photos of her and see her live show I knew I had to jump on it.
P!nk came through Portland, OR on her latest stop of the Beautiful Trauma Tour. The show opened with a big pink curtain covering the stage, and then, suddenly, the curtain plummeted to the ground and P!nk came flying through the air on a chandelier as she began singing the 2001 hit “Get The Party Started”. The crowd roared, everyone singing along to the timeless classic. P!nk performed a multitude of airborne acrobatic stunts throughout the night and they really never ceased to amaze. Once she returned to the ground we saw that she was accompanied by a full band as well as a group of dancers. As far as the lighting and stage design goes, there was, of course, a LOT of pink. P!nk had many props utilized throughout the performance, things like the swinging chandelier, some Dr Seuss-esque pink lamp posts that were moved around the stage and had dancers swinging on throughout the songs, and also a swirling pink chair which she danced around, sat inside of and stood atop.
After P!nk kicked the show off with a bang she then slowed it down a bit and transitioned into the tour namesake and title track of her 2017 release Beautiful Trauma, followed by the 2001 song “Just Like A Pill”. Throughout the slower songs P!nk took the time to get closer to the fans as she kneeled upon a platform which moved across the length of the front row barricade and she touched the hands of each and every fan in the front row. The show offered high flying spectacles as well as intimate moments with fans, and was truly everything a true P!nk fan could possible hope for. As much as I would love to go on raving about this incredible show, I think I’ll save a bit of the mystery for you to find out, catch P!nk at these remaining tour dates on the Beautiful Trauma Tour!
